Initiation

I was able to watch the sun rise this morning through the over-sized window in our kitchen. This seems like inspiration enough to begin blogging about the myriad of other things that we are beginning right now. The "we" is my beautiful wife (the artist) and me (the engineer). I have thought of about two things to start a blog with but neither of them by themselves make very interesting posts. So here we go all together...

This week has been project crazy! We moved into our first home on Monday and haven't stopped working since. The project list so far (aside from the normal unpacking/organizing which is ongoing): Installed a chandelier, a porch motion sensor light, change a couple light switches, cleared a bunch of bamboo and blackberries, and built two 5'x12' raised garden beds! I am sure this sounds a little silly but because this is our first time Heidi and I have really enjoyed our time working together and exhausting ourselves each day. Just knowing the house is ours and seeing how great a blessing it is from the Lord it is still a joy to work at it. Perhaps if I took this same attitude of ownership to the other blessings in my life I would not lack for thankfulness or give into apathy so easily.

Yesterday was Good Friday and, like many others, I was dwelling on what the Lord has done for us. In Bible study that morning we had gone over Psalm 37. Verses 32 and 33 read "The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to slay him. The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged." This is my thought for this Good Friday: That Christ was condemned in the court of men that men might be justified in the court of God.
